In-Depth Review
Spark Energy began seving customers in early 2002. As a relatively early entry into the deregulated Texas power market, Spark Energy is still a relatively small provider. Based in Houston, Texas, Spark Energy's experienced management comes from some of Texas largest power marketers. Boasting 17 years of combined experience, there is a wealth of knowledge at the ready.

In 2002-2005 Spark Energy faced strong criticism from disgruntled customers, brokers, other REP's and the PUCT. Many customers reported being mislead, misbilled and ultimately lead to a generally bad reputation for Spark Energy. Since 2005, Spark has reshaped it's management, more thoroughly trained it's sales staff and many of those who criticised the strongest before (including Eisenbach Consulting) are praising their surprising rebound.

Spark Energy now has some of the most competitive pricing in Texas for both small and medium commercial and residential. They have a simple, straghtforward contract which doesn't seem to contain any loopholes found in many Texas REP contracts.

As a turnaround success, we are happy to include Spark Energy as one of the participating bidders in our monthly aggregation.
